Comprised of dedicated professionals from diverse backgrounds, our board provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to ensure we fulfill our commitment to the communities we serve. Their collective expertise, passion, and governance help shape a stronger, more impactful future for our cause.

Each board member brings a unique perspective and skill set that enhances our ability to serve effectively and responsibly. Together, they uphold the highest standards of accountability and transparency, ensure sound financial stewardship, and support the leadership team in achieving strategic goals. Their unwavering commitment empowers us to grow sustainably while staying true to our core values and the needs of those we serve.

Shiloh Martin

Board President

Shiloh Martin brings over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, education, and program leadership. He has served as a Special Education teacher, Psychological Operations Specialist in the US Army, and director of state and national behavioral health initiatives. As Board President of Bit by Bit, Shiloh combines strategic leadership with a deep commitment to community-based services. He is also an accomplished author, having written several books focused on mental health, character development, and Native American storytelling, further reflecting his dedication to healing, education, and cultural preservation.

Scott Epperson

Board Treasurer

Scott is a Native of Owasso. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Finance from OSU-Tulsa. He dedicated 41 years of his career to healthcare finance, primarily with Saint John Health System in Tulsa and Owasso. Scott, his wife Brenda, and their son Garrett currently live in Owasso. Scott and Brenda have both been involved with Bit by Bit – OK since their son started riding 25 years ago. Scott has been very active in volunteering as a horse leader and side walker as well as doing projects for the facility over the past years.

Bob Young

Board Secretary

Bob was employed for over 40 years serving nonprofit organizations. He worked with the YMCA of the USA before moving from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma in 1985 to work at the U.S. Jaycees’ National Headquarters. From 1989 until his retirement in 2019 he was employed by the Petroleum Equipment Institute, an international trade association. Bob has served on the Bit by Bit Board of Directors since 2018. His passion for serving individuals with special needs began early in his career with the Jaycees and continues today. Bob and wife Nancy have been married for 35 years, and have 2 children, 2 granddaughters and one great-grandson. They both enjoy RVing and spending time with family and friends.

Denise Henry

Board Member

Denise Henry is a 26 year law enforcement veteran with experience as a state, tribal, and federal officer and she is the former Muskogee National Police Commissioner. She currently teaches the Criminal Justice and Practical Law program at Tulsa Tech and still serves as a commissioned reserve officer with the Osage Nation Police. Denise brings a deep commitment to public service and community engagement, grounded in decades of frontline experience. 

She joined the Bit by Bit Board of Directors in 2022. She immediately fell in love and connected with the mission and the families served. Recognizing the powerful impact the program could have on first responders as well, Denise has helped expand volunteer opportunities that bridge the gap between therapeutic services and public safety professionals. 

She continues to serve on the board and supports the center’s volunteer initiatives, bringing both leadership and a heart for service to every aspect of her involvement.

Brandi M. Payton

Board Member

Brandi M. Payton, DHA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, is a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation and is also of Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Hopi descent. She began serving on the board of directors for Bit by Bit in February 2025. A registered nurse by training, Dr. Payton currently serves as the Clinic Administrator of the Cherokee Nation Cooweescoowee Health Center in Ochelata, Oklahoma—a facility she helped open in 2015.

In 2019, she was selected as an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity at George Washington University, a program focused on addressing health disparities through global collaboration, leadership development, and exposure to innovative health equity initiatives.

Dr. Payton holds a Doctorate in Health Care Administration from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (2025) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC), and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Professionally, Dr. Payton is most proud of fostering strong, collaborative relationships within interdisciplinary healthcare teams and across community and professional settings. She considers it a privilege to contribute to organizations dedicated to service and health equity, such as Bit by Bit.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Payton is passionate about community building. She has been married to her husband, K.J., for 13 years, and together they have made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 2013. They have a son, Kylen—lovingly known as “Little Chief”—who is the light of their lives.
