PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor | Executive Director

McKenzie Oefelein, a PATH Intl. Certified Instructor and Mentor, brings over 15 years of experience to Bit by Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. As Administrative Program Coordinator, she supports riders, manages volunteers, and builds community partnerships. Her servant leadership and commitment to safety foster inclusive, growth-focused experiences that empower riders of all ages. McKenzie is passionate about advancing Bit by Bit’s mission to positively impact the lives of riders and their families.

Barn Staff Member

Skylan, a dedicated member of Bit by Bit’s Barn Staff, brings years of hands-on experience in horse care and barn management. Since age 15, she has managed daily care for 14 horses, demonstrating strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to animal welfare. Joining full time in August 2024, and with experience caring for her own horse, Skylan takes pride in supporting Bit by Bit’s mission and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for horses and riders.

Barn Staff Member | Instructor-in-training

Nicole brings a strong background in child development and equine care to her role at Bit by Bit. Passionate about adaptive riding, she’s pursuing certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. In five months on the Barn Staff, she’s gained valuable experience in herd care and barn operations. Known for her reliability, enthusiasm, and work ethic, Nicole is dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment and supporting Bit by Bit’s mission to empower individuals through horsemanship.
